History: Planted on the finest Mercurey terroirs, Domaine de Château de Chamirey covers 95 acres of which 38 are among the appellation’s most celebrated Premiers Crus. Chamirey Castle was built at the beginning of the 18th century. After a fire destroyed the adjacent chapel, the towers that can be seen today were built. At the end of the 18th century, Dupaty de Clam sold the property to the Marquis de Jouennes d’Herville. In 1934, the Marquis decided to bottle the Château de Chamirey wines on the estate. His son-in-law, Bertrand Devillard, continues his work and extends the domain to the best Mercurey terroirs, reaching its current size of 95 acres. Today the castle is run by Amaury et Aurore Devillard, 5th generation from Burgundy.

Our La Mission vineyard is made up of 3 small parcels 100% owned by Château de Chamirey. The vines were planted between 1961 and 1997.

Tasting Notes:

Nice color with bright green reflections. The nose is complex, powerful and sharp, developing aromas of citrus, almonds and pepper. On the palate, the wine is rich, intense and round. Fine attack, full-bodied and with a persistent freshness.
