History: Anakota begins deep in the heart of Knights Valley in rural Sonoma County. Located in an ancient volcanic area, this relatively untouched and unknown location offers incredibly unique and diverse soils with a climate ideally suited to Bordeaux varieties. Vigneron Pierre Seillan leads this project. Sourced from estate-owned vineyards, Anakota is a collection of single-vineyard, single-varietal wines that epitomize rustic elegance and the spirit of rural Sonoma County. Rising more than 4,000 feet above sea level, Mount St. Helena looks down on our two prized estate-owned vineyards, Helena Dakota and Helena Montana, which sit peacefully on the rugged slopes of the Mayacamas Mountain Range.

Tasting Notes:

A dark violet core of color gives rise to aromas of crunchy black cherry, ripe black currant, and fresh California bay laurel, accentuated by subtle toasted baking spices and bittersweet baking cocoa. These vibrant flavors wash across the palate, joined by crushed stone minerality from the soils of our Knights Valley Estate vineyards. Luxuriously firm tannins and bright acidity imparted by an outstanding vintage balance the exuberance of the fruit and drive to a very long finish
