Composition: 32% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6% Petit Verdot

History: Marchese Lodovico Antinori discovered the property of Tenuta di Biserno near Bibbona, in the Alta Maremma area of Tuscany, in 1994 while looking for additional land to expand his Tenuta dell’Ornellaia vineyard. Given its proximity to Bolgheri, it is not surprising that the similarity in terroir struck him at first. However, what he found in Bibbona had so much potential that he was inspired to develop an entirely different plan. With more hills and stones than nearby Bolgheri, this land appeared ideally suited to produce a new and different wine. In 2001, Lodovico and his brother, Piero, established Tenuta di Biserno as an elite wine estate.

Tasting Notes:

Deep ruby red, this wine has a bouquet featuring intriguing notes of ripe red fruit accompanied by scents of brushwood. Full-bodied and vibrant upon entry, it floods the palate with its dense and elegant tannic texture, closing with a persistent and beautifully crisp finish.
