History: MAAL Wines was born from a friendship nurtured by a common passion for viticulture and Malbec. In 2010, a micro-vinification of six barrels of grapes from an abandoned vineyard in Vistaflores gave birth to this project. In 2013, Alfredo Merlo and Matias Fraga’s passion for making Malbec became more serious and MAAL Wines was officially born. Based on sustainable practices, MAAL Wines’ mission is to produce only Malbec wines that are expressive with character and reflect a balance between the soul of a vineyard and the personality of the winemakers. The name biutiful, represented on the label by a butterfly inside a chrysalis, refers to the pure, natural beauty of the wine and the fact that it is not aged in oak.

Tasting notes:

Intense dark fruit flavors dominate and there are spice, earthy and savory notes adding depth and complexity. A very well balanced and approachable wine, probably at its best with food, red meat dishes and summer barbeques in particular.
