History: Château Calon Ségur, symbolized by the heart on its label, was beloved by its first owner, the Marquis de Ségur, who famously said, “I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is at Calon.” Established in the Gallo-Roman era and ranked as a Third Growth estate in the 1855 Classification, it is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Estèphe. Today, under the guidance of Vincent Millet, the estate produces wines with finesse and intensity, continuing the Marquis’ legacy of passion and excellence in winemaking.

Tasting Notes: 

A delicious expression of fruit that perfectly integrates with tannin and acidity, 2021 is beautifully constructed. Calon Segur has a rich history and is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc. Located in the north of the St-Estephe appellation, this historic Third Growth winery got its name from the small river boats that were used to ferry timber across the Gironde River estuary, which the Calon-Segur vines overlooked.
