History: Calvet Wines was founded in 1818 by Jean-Marie Calvet in Tain-l’Hermitage, in France’s northern Rhône Valley. Initially focused on producing wines from the Rhône region, the company quickly expanded, opening a representative office in Bordeaux in 1823. Over time, Calvet became a prominent player in Bordeaux, specializing in fine wines from key French regions, including Burgundy, the Loire Valley, and Alsace.

Throughout the 20th century, Calvet underwent several ownership changes, and in 2007 it was acquired by Les Grands Chais de France, a major French wine group. Today, Calvet Wines is known for its commitment to quality and innovation, offering a diverse range of wines that showcase the richness of French terroirs. The Calvet family’s legacy continues to influence the wine industry, blending tradition with modern winemaking practices and promoting French wines internationally.
