48 in stock

Region: Saint-Julien, France

Vintage: 2019

Composition: Bordeaux Blend

History: Château Gruaud Larose is a wine estate in the Saint-Julien appellation of the Médoc, ranked as a second growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. It is widely regarded as a classic Saint-Julien wine and is known for its sensible pricing. Most releases need 10 to 15 years to be appreciated at their best.

Tasting Notes:

The nose is fruity and gourmet. There are lovely notes of fleshy strawberry, red berries and, more slightly, grey pepper, combined with fine touches of crushed blackberry and delicate hints of vanilla and cardamom. The palate is fresh, mineral, balanced and offers elegance, a nice gourmandise, a finely unctuous matter, a fine straightness as well as a nice salinity/iodine. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy wild strawberry, crushed redcurrant and, more slightly, fresh meadow flowers combined with touches of crushed blackberry as well as hints of vanilla, cardamom and a subtle touch of pepper. The tannins are precise and racy. Good length. Nice sapidity. Good persistence.
