Composition: 47.9% Merlot, 45.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6.3% Cabernet Franc

History: The property owes its name, origin and old reputation to a historic congregation called “Congregation of the Mission” or “Lazarists”, founded in the seventeenth century by Saint Vincent de Paul. Since 1983, La Mission Haut Brion is one of the jewels of Domaine Clarence Dillon, which has completely renovated the Castle and built high-tech technical facilities. Before entering the actual “cathedral of the wine” cellar, the visitors are welcomed in a cloister, close to the small chapel Notre-Dame of Aubrion, built at the end of the XVIIth century. Many critics today consider the Château de la Mission Haut Brion wine one of Bordeaux’s best.

Tasting Notes:

The colour is a bold purple. The nose is aromatic, concentrated and fruity on blackberry and vanilla-scented wood fragrances. Full on the first taste, it is wide with a superb, predominant fruit flavor. Then the wine develops on perceptible tannins, but plump, velvety and flavourful. There is excellent, refreshing length. This is a lovely, aromatic Mission Haut-Brion, crafted with superb length on the finish.
