History: Domaine Ponsot is a family-owned wine producer in Burgundy. It is known for its red and white wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but is also well-known for the Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru Clos des Monts Luisants, the only 100-percent Aligoté premier cru wine in Burgundy.

Tasting Notes:

Fruit purchased from Petit Monpertuis and Quatorze Journaux, which is destemmed, gently fermented and aged in used casks to produce a wine with aromas of dark plummy fruit and fresh violets. The texture is rich, with extract and powerful tannins, yet the wine is still very elegant and shows a lovely finesse on the lingering finish.
