Composition: 100% Pinot Noir

History: Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is a producer in the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy that specializes in producing wines made from Pinot Noir. The domaine has its origins in vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin purchased in 1850 by Jean-Baptiste Laroze. Eventually Alexandre Drouhin took over the estate, bringing his family vines from Chambolle-Musigny and incorporating them under Domaine Drouhin-Laroze. Today the family owns 11.5 hectares (28.5 acres) of vines spread throughout Burgundy and is run by the fifth and sixth generation of the family.

Tasting Notes:

“All destemmed because of millerand grapes. A dense black colour, this shows some concentration in bouquet, dark black fruit, which continues on the palate, solid, though in this vintage not too muscular, with an attractive dark berry aftertaste.” – Jasper Morris
