History: Domaine Drouhin-Laroze is a producer in the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy that specializes in producing wines made from Pinot Noir. The domaine has its origins in vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin purchased in 1850 by Jean-Baptiste Laroze. Eventually Alexandre Drouhin took over the estate, bringing his family vines from Chambolle-Musigny and incorporating them under Domaine Drouhin-Laroze. Today the family owns 11.5 hectares (28.5 acres) of vines spread throughout Burgundy and is run by the fifth and sixth generation of the family.

Tasting Notes:

When young, it is characterised by its raspberry red to deep garnet colour. Its full-bodied bouquet is reminiscent of black fruit, liquorice, spices, with woody and leather hints. On the palate, melted wood slightly dominates aromas of black fruit, truffle, anise and cherry. The intense, powerful and precise tannins of this Grand Cru accompany a long, unctuous finish
