Composition: 100% Chardonnay

History: The history of this domain dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when Etienne Sauzet inherited and bought several plots of vineyards in the village of Puligny-Montrachet. The vines were passed down the family to Jeanine Boillot, Sauzet’s granddaughter. Jeanine and her husband, Gérard Boudot, managed the estate and carried out many modernizations, including improved winemaking techniques and biodynamic agriculture. Today the domain has passed to his daughter Emilie and her husband, Benoît Riffault, who continue to produce white wines that are among the most sought after in all of Burgundy. After four generations, Sauzet is still synonymous with elegant, high-quality Burgundian Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes:

Very mature and expressive on the nose with nuances of hazelnut and almond. Rich on the palate, too, with some nuts, rum, raisins, butter and anise. A lot of class for a village wine. Lingering, lingering fruit with a lemon and creamed corn finish.
