Region: Columbia Valley, Washington

Vintage: 2019

Composition: 64% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec

Elaboration: The 2019 Cuvée was crafted from several vineyards across the Columbia Valley, Royal Slope and Red Mountain AVAs. Farmed using sustainable practices, they were hand-harvested in the early mornings September 6 – November 2, 2019. Upon arriving in the winery, each cluster was hand-sorted, berry-sorted, and then fermented in either concrete or stainless-steel tanks. Using only the free-run wine, it was then moved to French oak barrels (60% new) for 21 months of cellaring. The resulting 58 barrels were bottled, without fining or filtration, in October 2021, producing only 1,401 cases.

Tasting Notes:

“Aromas of grilled plum, nutmeg and crushed sage. Full-bodied with soft tannins and mineral character. Sharp acidity and wet stone brighten the red and black fruit.” – James Suckling
