History: César León Pérez, Laura Ogando, and Ernesto Funes founded Residence Wines in October 2022, with enologist Elena Corzana guiding the winemaking. Based in the ancient, old-vine landscape of Elvillar de Álava (Rioja Alavesa), the brand centers on a 114-year-old plot near the prehistoric dolmen of La Hechicera. It operates as a distinctive “Creative Residence,” blending viticulture and art. Alongside an artistic residency program at an ancestral manor, it invites international guest winemakers to create personal interpretations of the local terroir. Residence Wines officially unveiled its debut lineup in early January 2025.

Tasting Notes:

Farallón Rosado opens with vibrant red berries from hand-harvested Tempranillo and Viura, layered with delicate yeasty notes from eight months on fine lees. Structured and age-worthy, it gains texture through dual maturation in ceramic amphorae and new French oak bocoyes, ending with a persistent, mineral-driven finish that reflects its high-altitude Elvillar single-vineyard terroir.
