History: The story of Hobel Wines began in 1998 when Cameron first met friend and winemaker Thomas Brown in Napa. Cameron was the Director of Business Development at Winebid.com, and Thomas was the Assistant Winemaker at Turley Wine Cellars. Their mutual love of great wine led to many shared dinners and glasses of wine, where they discussed the prospect of finding a project that would allow them to work together in producing a world-class wine. The opportunity arose eleven years later with the 2009 Hobel Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes:

The Arris is almost black, similar to what you would see from an Oakville site. It is a seductive beauty, showing sweet dark fruit compote, soil, underbrush, white flowers, and creosote on the nose. The palate is lush with dark fruits framed by nice minerality, almost like crushed rocks. The tannin is there, but with the sheer amount of fruit and glycerin, you don’t even notice it. Like The Figure, this wine holds a lot in reserve and will reward with some cellaring.
