History: Like so many people who end up working in the wine industry, one may remember a chance meeting or conversation that set the wheels of fate in motion. John Giannini met Thomas Brown through mutual friends while playing volleyball and it was Thomas who gave John his first harvest job in Napa Valley in 2003. Everything about the harvest season was exciting and compelling and created an impression. lasting, however, John still wasn’t entirely sure he was ready to give up his first passion. Moving to Portland, Oregon in 2004 to help open a friend’s restaurant was to be his last foray into the restaurant business, and come vintage 2005, John came back to stay. He worked that crop, and every crop since, vowing never to lose another crop. And he hasn’t.

Tasting Notes:

The bouquet is slow to express itself but your patience is rewarded with sweet aromas of crushed blackberries, toasted oak, baker’s chocolate and kalamata olives. These combine for a layered and texturally satisfying mouthfeel with great length and complexity. The pure fruit center and sweet fine grained tannins create a balanced and harmonious drinking experience full of pleasure.
