Composition: 38% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot, & 8% other red grapes

History: Marchese Lodovico Antinori, the creator of two of Italy’s most famed wines, Ornellaia and Masseto, conceived his new project with these benchmarks in mind.  He discovered the exceptional Tenuta di Biserno terroir in the Upper Maremma with his long-time friend and wine adviser, Michel Rolland.  He is joined by his brother, Marchese Piero Antinori, President of world-renowned Antinori Wines.

Tasting Notes:

“The Cabernet-adjacent aromas come through nicely with dark fruit, blackberry and exotic spice. The wine is full-bodied in texture and structure, although it manages slightly more contained richness on the mid-palate. That gives Il Pino a more accessible disposition. It closes with a bright note of sweet cherry.” – Robert Parker.
