Composition: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot

History: The Erba vineyard climbs along the back side of Atlas Peak facing South-East with a view of San Pablo Bay. The vines receive strong morning and midday sun from the east but are shaded and cooled from Atlas peak and the maritime breezes that pass through in the afternoon. The twenty unique blocks between 1100 and 1500 ft were selectively planted to a mixture of Bordeaux varieties and rootstocks to match each site. Each block is picked at peak flavor and fermented individually to maximize the character of each unique microclimate.

Tasting Notes:

On first sip this wine impresses with a complex medley of perfectly ripe blackberry, blueberry and cassis. The density and concentration remind one of a rich blueberry compote. This showstopper grabs your attention with swirling flavors of blackberry liqueur, sandalwood, torrefaction, spiced chocolate and maplewood smoked meat. The finish rocks your palate like an arena concert encore.
