Composition: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc

History: A combination of Napa hillside and valley sites. Each vineyard adds multitudes to this unique blend. Erba vineyard’s expansive microclimate variety brings complexity, while Oakville’s Tench vineyard Cabernet supplies power and balance. Sugarloaf Mountain Merlot and Cabernet Franc from southern Napa’s rolling, sunbaked hills add a plushness to the blend that is unmistakably Sugarloaf. Deep and intensely dark Petit Verdot from Sage Creek Vineyard blends into a constant tug of war with the impossibly bright and elegant Mt. Veeder Cabernet from Lynne’s Vineyard.

Tasting Notes:

This wine leaps from the glass with juicy red plum and raspberry fruit mixed with red licorice, dried rose petal and freshly turned earth. The mouthfeel is incredibly round and lush with refined tannins that coat the mouth revealing its seductive nature.
