History: In 1987, Gonzalo Antón, together with a group of friends and businessmen from nearby Vitoria, started an innovative project in the deeper Rioja Alavesa. The town of Villabuena de Alava, where his family already grew grapes, was chosen as the location for the innovative winery that would focus on making fine wines. Gonzalo’s knowledge of hotels and restaurants soon made Izadi one of the most appreciated wines in gastronomic circles. At the same time, the introduction of new winemaking techniques and continuous improvements in quality set the style of the house over time. Selección comes from carefully harvested low-yield plots, with an average age of 60 years, produced in the triangle cultivation area formed by three villages, Villabuena, Samaniego and Abalos.

Tasting Notes:

Beautiful and intense ruby ​​red color. Very clean and bright. Round, balanced and expressive nose of high intensity. Notes of red fruit with some light spicy nuances. Expressive and round. Ripe tannins with a long and persistent finish.
