History: In 2004, Napa winemakers Andy Erickson and Benoit Touquette used the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Agave Rose Vineyard to make the inaugural release of Jack Quinn Cabernet. Jack Quinn Cabernet Sauvignon has led a charmed life. The inaugural 2004 vintage was selected as the recommended Cabernet at The French Laundry in Yountville, California during 2007. The vintage quickly sold out and we have only managed to keep a few cases in the cellar. Benoit Touquette, who assisted in developing the 2004 Jack Quinn Cabernet, has taken the reins for the vintages 2005 through 2021 Jack Quinn Cabernet Sauvignon. Benoit is a star in knowledgeable Napa winemaking circles and the Jack Quinn Cabernet out of Agave Rose Vineyard on the Rutherford Bench is one reason why.

Tasting Notes:

Packed with purity, vibrancy and energy. The long vintage allowed for a nice retention of freshness that can be hard to come by in Napa Valley. Medium-full bodied, this dark & inky wine has a high elegance that exudes notes of juicy black fruits, blueberry compote, black cherry preserves and warm cassis, followed by rose pedal, leather and baking spices finishing long with beautifully ripe and polished tannins. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
