History: In 2004, Napa winemakers Andy Erickson and Benoit Touquette used the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Agave Rose Vineyard to make the inaugural release of Jack Quinn Cabernet. Jack Quinn Cabernet Sauvignon has led a charmed life. The inaugural 2004 vintage was selected as the recommended Cabernet at The French Laundry in Yountville, California during 2007. The vintage quickly sold out and we have only managed to keep a few cases in the cellar. Benoit Touquette, who assisted in developing the 2004 Jack Quinn Cabernet, has taken the reins for the vintages 2005 through 2021 Jack Quinn Cabernet Sauvignon. Benoit is a star in knowledgeable Napa winemaking circles and the Jack Quinn Cabernet out of Agave Rose Vineyard on the Rutherford Bench is one reason why.

Tasting Notes:

Beautifully expresses its purity of fruit along with a harmonious sense of seamlessness. Deep garnet-purple, it comes dashing out of the glass with notes of blackberries, dark cherries, black currants, red roses, baking spices and earth. Medium to full bodied, the wine has a beautiful fresh and plush juiciness followed by a vibrancy in the mouth, it is layered with polished tannins that are followed with a nice mineral layered finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
