History: Julien Fayard is a renowned Napa Valley winemaker with a background in French winemaking, notably working in Bordeaux. He founded Fayard Factory, which is a custom winemaking facility and project aimed at producing high-quality wines. Fayard focuses on crafting artisanal wines using Napa’s premium grapes, emphasizing French winemaking techniques, precision, and balance. Fayard Factory produces wines under different labels and also provides consulting services for other wineries. The facility allows for experimentation with various styles, offering both limited-edition and larger production wines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes:

Rich and aromatic, this wine offers marvelous depth and intensity that will continue to evolve with time in the cellar. The nose opens with fragrant notes of blackberry pie, sweet fennel, cedar, and graphite, grounded by cool earthy aromas. In the mouth, the core of dark plum and black cherry opens into notes of pomegranate molasses, aniseed, and soft green peppercorns. Fine-grained, mineral-scented tannins provide elegant structure, and notes of golden caramel and kola nut glide into a long finish of dried cherries, baking spice, and mint tea.
