History: The first wine Heidi made for La Sirena began as a chance opportunity: a custom crush wine for a failed client. She had been hired to make Sangiovese during the 1994 vintage for a new brand, but found herself in a conflict of interest situation with her family, who had other ties to the winery. The wine was already made and quite delicious, but the client had to abandon the project. They were going to put the wine on the bulk market and she thought, “This is my chance”.

Tasting Notes:

The color is a beautiful soft petal pink, with vibrant fruity aromas of strawberries, pink grapefruit, and cantaloupe, and a lovely floral note adding complexity. Bright, mouthwatering acidity is enticing with clean flavors to match the aromatics. It’s crisp and dry, but has a candy-like impression on the palate because of the intense fruit flavors.
