Region: Bordeaux, France

Vintage: 2020

Composition: Bordeaux Blend

History: Château Mouton Rothschild, a First Classified Growth, encompasses 82 hectares of vines in Pauillac, Médoc, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, averaging 50 years old. Benefiting from exceptional natural conditions, the estate combines traditional methods with modern technology, meticulously managing the process from grape to bottle, with wines aged in new French oak barrels. Additionally, the estate includes 6 hectares of sandy, gravelly soil for its white wine, Aile d’Argent, and is renowned for its annual label artwork by contemporary artists, a tradition since 1945.

Tasting Notes: “Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes galloping out of the glass with exuberant notes of ripe blackcurrants, fresh blackberries and kirsch, plus suggestions of Indian spices, clove oil and chocolate box, plus a fragrant suggestion of lilacs. The medium-bodied palate has a rock-solid structure of firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the tight-knit red and black berry layers, finishing long with a peppery kick” – Lisa Perotti-Brown/The Wine Advocate
