History: At Maggy Hawk, we are inspired by the beauty of the vineyards on our Anderson Valley estate as we continue to search for cool climate sites. Family owned since 1994 and planted in 2000, we focus on the purity of the grape and the natural elegance found within. The northern half of Anderson Valley, what locals call “The Deep End,” is usually shrouded in thick fog drifting in from the nearby Mendocino coast. Here, our Maggy Hawk Vineyard, Skycrest Vineyard and Edmeades Vineyard are tucked away among the rolling slopes of the valley, surrounded by redwood trees. We were inspired by this beautiful cool-climate region and looked to others, like the Dundee Hills in the Willamette Valley. The diversity of our vineyards gives our team of winemakers a wealth of characteristics to pair with Maggy Hawk wines. Each has their own style and story to tell. Together they offer a unique view of this remote region.

Tasting Note:

Expressive, silky and refined. Jolie opens with fresh aromas of red cherry, currants, strawberry shortcake and dried rose petals. In the mouth it echoes the light aromas of red fruits with an incredibly juicy texture at the entrance that is highlighted by a balanced acidity and very subtle tannins that frame the edges.
