History: In 1971, Lupe was working for Sterling Vineyards when Peter Newton offered her the opportunity to join him in creating a new winery in the Spring Mountain district of St. Helena. Lupe’s dedication and hard work were beginning to pay off; he was named vineyard manager for Newton Vineyard. With Newton, Lupe found a home where she proudly devoted all her energy for over thirty years. In 1999, her son Hugo took over as manager of the Vineyard when Lupe planned to retire. Lupe began to dedicate her three decades of viticultural knowledge to her own grapes. He purchased a 10-acre piece of land in the cooler stretches of southern Napa Valley, in Jamieson Canyon, which he developed into his own vineyards. Lupe lives in the middle of the vineyards that he planted and takes care of. Lupe and her son Hugo, graduated in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of California at Davis, and their families are partners in the project. They farm the vineyard together and oversee the entire winemaking project, as well as running a small vineyard management company.

Beautiful interaction of wood and fruit with blueberry jam and black pepper with English candy, cassis, blackberry and vanilla balanced with truffle. Fresh entrance evolving on velvety tannins with an exponential evolution and great integration of black cherry and blueberry with dark chocolate and lingering violet
