History: “It all started as a simple plan: make a wine we’d love to buy. We wanted a quality wine that offered great value for money and packaging. It is not an epiphany, but it motivates us to act. Of course, we first had to think of a name. To keep peace in families, we took the initials of our wives (we each have only one wife) – that’s how we explained to Marie, Anette, and Nicky that we would be ‘busy’ most weekends. ‘It’s for you!’ we told them. And above all, it’s true.” José Conde and brothers Tyrrel and Philip Myburgh started making wine together in 2001. In addition, they are supported by a group of dedicated vintners from the Agter-Paarl region. From the first 300 cases made in a tractor shed, MAN Family Wines has grown to produce more than 175,000 cases annually and export to 25 countries.

Tasting Notes:

This is a modern style that emphasizes Pinotage’s characteristic softer Pinot Noir. The wine is ruby garnet red with a hint of purple. Our Pinotage displays pleasant aromas of mocha and roasted coffee beans, followed by juicy flavors of red berries, nutmeg, and vanilla spice on the palate.
