History: Nobushi is a blend of Japanese malt and grain whiskeys from Miyagi, Nagano, and Hokkaido prefectures, aged for 3 to 4 years in American oak barrels in the village of Kiyokawa, a name meaning “pure river.” It is named after the Nobushi, elite Japanese warriors sworn to protect the villages; the word actually translates as “spirit of honor”, based on leading and venerating a disciplined life based on values, the absence of fear and a deep respect for oneself, others and the environment.

Tasting notes:

On the nose, caramel and spices, with cinnamon, nutmeg and honeycomb along with toasted oak. On the palate, mint pod and earthy vanilla, with orange curd and sultana with a hint of woody spice and a buttery caramel finish.
