History: Moonracer is Realm’s Estate wine from our SLD Estate Vineyard on Wappo Hill in the Stags Leap District. This elevated site is considered critical to the Wappo Native Americans, providing the tribe with a central vantage point from which to spot intruders. The Wappos, though small in number, were known for their bravery, strength, and athleticism. Author Jack London, writing about the curious races between tribes during full moons, noted that the Wappos often won these contests. Hence, Moonracer is an oblique reference to the first inhabitants of the place Realm calls home.

Tasting Notes:

Reminiscent of a high-wire act, this wine is tightly wound with plenty of tension and verve that will reward patience. The beautiful mid-palate is densely packed with intricate layers of fruit, warm spices and fresh alpine forest that we expect will intrigue and delight over time.
