History: Roagna is a family-owned Piemontese producer based in Barbaresco. It had been producing wine well before its official classification in 1890, and is particularly known for its Barbaresco Crichët Pajé cuvée, one of the highest-priced wines produced in Italy. In the winery, fruit undergoes a long wild yeast fermentation with a submerged cap. Large oak vats are used for barrel-aging as well as fermentation. The Roagna wines are then bottled without fining or filtration.
