Region: Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina
Vintage: 2015
Composition: 100% Malbec
History: Tinto Negro celebrates the essence of Malbec in Mendoza. Known for its dark, black color, Malbec is definitely a black red. The Tinto Negro portfolio explores the Mendoza terroir where Malbec shines, gradually isolating unique vineyard sites and winemaking techniques, and showcasing the heights of concentration and complexity Malbec can aspire to. Tinto Negro was born from the long friendship and professional collaboration of Alejandro Sejanovich and Jeff Mausbach. Bodega Catena Zapata colleagues for nearly 15 years, Alejandro was Vineyard Director and Jeff was Director of Wine Education. At an altitude of 4,000′, at the foot of the majestic Andes, the soils have a strong limestone character that gives a mineral texture to the wines produced here.
