History: The Liger-Belair family has been involved in winemaking for over 250 years. In 2001, Thibault Liger-Belair took over as the winemaker and established Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair. After studying viticulture and oenology for six years and working in wine communications in Paris, Thibault pursued his passion for winemaking at the age of 26. He emphasizes the importance of “listening” to the vines to help them achieve their natural potential, focusing on quality over quantity. The vineyards are certified organic by Ecocert, and Les Saint-Georges, located in the southern part of the appellation, is one of the oldest climats, with vines dating back to around 1000 AD. By the late 19th century, Nuits was allowed to add the prestigious “Saint-Georges” cru to its name.

Tasting Notes:

The nose is lively and well-defined, featuring ripe red berries, orange peel, and a hint of earthy and forest notes. It is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, structured and quite linear, leading to a finish with a fine line of acidity.
