History: Vincent Girardin, the winemaker behind VG wines, comes from a family with a long history in Burgundy. Girardin began making wines under his own name in 1982, quickly gaining a reputation for producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines. His approach emphasizes minimal intervention in both vineyard and winery, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes and their origins to shine through.

Tasting Notes: 

Here the wood treatment is not subtle as there are notes of menthol present on the otherwise pretty ripe and fresh aromas of dark raspberry warm earth spiced plum and pretty range of floral elements. There is excellent concentration to the extract-rich medium-bodied flavors that possess a velvety mid-palate mouth feel that contrasts markedly with the very firm serious and youthfully austere finale.
