History: Proprietors Tim and Ali Beranek began visiting Northern California’s wine regions in their early twenties.  Fifteen years later, in 2013, Young Hagen Wines began in the corner of the cellar at Outpost Winery, where Tim worked as Cellarmaster. After attending high school together in Northern Wisconsin, Ali was off to college in MN, then CA.  Tim moved to San Diego to pursue his passion for golf.  Upon graduating from the Golf Academy of America, and playing professionally on developmental tours, he worked as a club professional in Minnesota and Southern California.  Golf lead to an interest in wine and additional Winemaking studies at Minnesota and Davis.  After starting as an intern at Kosta Browne in 2010, Tim began working under Thomas Rivers Brown at Outpost in 2011 and then Mending Wall as Assistant Winemaker and Winemaker.

All of the Riddle spice notes are here. This wine features dark red fruits, redwood forest, and sandalwood on the nose and moves into dark cherry, plum, and tea spices on the palate.
