Region: Cotes-du-Rhone, Rhone Valley, France

Composition: 40% Grenache, 40% Mourvèdre, and 20% Syrah

History: Famille Perrin’s involvement in the wine trade dates back to 1909, when Pierre Traminer purchased the Château de Beaucastel and later transferred it to his son-in-law Pierre Perrin, a scientist who developed Beaucastel. His son, Jacques, continued his father’s efforts and continued to expand the family’s holdings until 1978. Today, Jacque’s sons, Jean-Pierre and François, run the business with the fifth generation of the family: Marc, Pierre, Thomas, Cécile, Charles, Matthieu and César.

Tasting Notes:

Beautiful colour of an intense and deep-red with purple reflections. The nose is very delicate with notes of fresh and juicy fruit, subtly enhanced with a hint of pepper. The mouth continues with finesse with aromas of cherries and blackcurrants, soft and silky tannins and a very nice balance. The finish is long and particularly sapid and aromatic, with great elegance.
